About Me
Where are you from?:

I was born in Sterling, Colorado but grew up in the Loveland/Fort Collins area.

How did you learn your second language:

I studied Spanish all throughout school, but I learned the majority of my Spanish when I studied in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. I lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico for two years and taught first and fourth grades in a bilingual school. It was one of the best experiences of my life!

What is your mission as a staff member at Harris?:

My mission is to form strong relationships with all students and families at Harris Bilingual Elementary. I will help provide an atmosphere of security, warmth, and encouragement as students work to reach their fullest educational potential in the areas of academic, career, and personal development. I will also work to establish a solid foundation as students successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible and productive citizens who respect themselves and others.

My vision is to have a kind, caring, and empathetic school where students treat each other and treat adults with respect and compassion. I envision giving kids the tools to self-regulate their emotions and their actions to help them be successful in their relationships, in school, and in their future careers.

Tell us something interesting about yourself?:

While I was studying abroad, I met my husband and we now have three beautiful kids. I love to cook, to do creative projects, and I love living in Colorado.

My Classroom
What do you teach or do at Harris?:

I am the behavioral coach and I promote understanding and respect of self and others; problem-solving and decision-making; emotional-management skills; skills for learning; and the influence of academic habits on future success.

About My Classroom:

In my classroom, we respect one another and help each other learn. We have a lot of fun, but we also work very hard to reach our goals. We form strong relationships and help each other be successful. I believe that ALL students can learn and achieve academic greatness when encouraged and nurtured in a respectful environment. I believe that nurturing ALL students social and emotional well-being will encourage academic development and future success. I believe the school counselor’s role is to provide a data-driven, developmental counseling program to meet the needs of ALL students through a guidance curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support.
