I was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa only becuase there wasn't a hospital in my hometown of Glenwood. I have moved many times during my childhood. Other states I have lived in are Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.
In college, I met my husband who is from Honduras. On one of our first dates, he started by teaching me the alphabet. From there, I just picked it up gradually, mainly to be able to speak to my in-laws who all still live in Honduras. As I was reading books in Spanish to my children, I was learning along with them.
To encourage the love of reading and to help students learn library and information skills.
I certainly love books, but I also love art, math, science and all sports, especially soccer and football. I am a soccer referee, and I played professional football for the National Women's Football Association. I am a member of a CrossFit box, and I practice yoga and pilates to gently round out all of my workouts.
I am the Media Assistant.
My classroom is the library and the computer lab. Although it is located in the basement, Mrs Petty and I strive to make it a bright and inviting space where students will enjoy learning how to be effective users of information, ideas and technology.
