I am originally from Guayama, Puerto Rico. My father's active duty in the Army has allowed me to venture to different parts of the world, including Germany and Alaska.
I learned English in school when we moved from Puerto Rico to Louisiana. I was very shy and scared, learning to make new friends and ways to communicate. My parents insisted we spoke only Spanish in our home, which allowed me to keep my native language.
I want to provide a fun and enriching environment for preschoolers to learn how to socialize in the big world! Children at this age are little scientists; I want to give them the tools necessary to investigate their environment and meet new friends in the process. I also want to faciliate in honoring our student's home language, showing them how unique their accents, dialects, and heritage are to the world.
My favorite hobby is hot yoga for its physical and mental challenge. I also make it a priority to eat one serving of ice cream every night :)
I teach preschool in an integrated classroom filled with wonderful 3-5 year olds.
My classroom in integrated with typically developing peers and students with special needs. It it an environment filled with multifaceted ways of learning, so that all children can have fun and access their learning potential.
